This will be the final year for the only U.S. Pro Tour cycling team, Discovery Channel which by the way is co-owned by the record holding seven consecutive Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. The team dominated the professional cycling scene for almost a decade, winning 8 out of the 9 Tours. Seven victories for Armstrong (1999-2005) and this year's (2007) winner Alberto Contador of Spain. 2006 TDF winner Floyd Landis by the way happens to be a member of Discovery Channel before moving to Team Phonak.
It's literally been a really great tour not just for the team riders and sponsors but also the fans who followed them all the way up the alps in France and all the other tours in Europe. Thanks for the great memories Team Discovery Channel.
